WHAT & WHERE
 

Zulema is a small village located in the municipality of Alcalá del Júcar in the NE of the region of La Manchuela (Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain)

La Manchuela has some touristic attractions for people interested in natural and cultural tourism. The region is crossed by the river Jucar  which flows by a craggy valley. In the valley of the river Jucar  we can find:

Natural interest points: riverside forest with it´s associated fauna and flora. Also we can find acuatical vertebrates and invertebrates.

Geological interest points: the valley of the river Jucar  is an ancient fault. Its walls offer the vision of a complete stratigrafic sequence for the study of the regional geological evolution.

Cultural interest points: Castles of Jorquera (partially conserved), Alcalá del Júcar (restored) and Villa de Ves (in ruins). Some cave complexes with unknown utility and residential caves from the muslim period.

In the north of La Manchuela we find the valley of the river Cabriel. The River Cabriel  is one of the most clearest and unpolluted rivers of the Iberian Peninsula. Close to the Cabriel there is a spa called "La Concepción" in the municipality of Villatoya.

Zulema is 11 km. from Alcalá del Jucar, it´s located in the plain of La Manchuela between the valley of the river Jucar  and the valley of the river Cabriel . Albacete, the provincial capital is 64 km away.
